We are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Harry Stanley, who has joined SLPE as a Structural Engineer.
Before joining us, Harry spent almost three years at Atkins developing structural designs for several high-profile wind farm projects. He is also working towards chartership with the IMechE.
Harry has a wealth of offshore structural design and analysis experience, particularly within WTG jacket and monopile projects, when he has been responsible for primary and secondary steel design. He is also particularly skilled at using 3D CAD and specialist analysis software such as Sesam and Ansys to undertake a range of engineering design activities – skills he is now further developing and putting to significant use at SLPE.
“We’re very delighted to have Harry on board,” said Joseph Hilton, Director of SLPE. “Harry’s experience in secondary steel design and complex offshore structural analyses, not to mention the broad array of projects he has worked across, has brought valuable skills and know-how to our team’s already strong repertoire”.

We had a great time at RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind exhibition last month. Always good catching up with the companies and people we work with, as well as seeing past colleagues from SLPE. It was also an opportunity to meet some of our more recent clients for the first time. All in all, excellent event with a lot to offer.
The jacket substructure for TenneT’s Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore substation, designed by SLPE, has been successfully installed at its offshore destination, approximately 18 km off the Dutch west coast.
Since SLPE’s inception back in 1986, we have gained a vast wealth of engineering experience and knowhow in the design of offshore substructures. In particular, our work has focused on the concept and detailed design of jacket and monopile substructures for a number of wind farm projects, primarily in European waters. Over the next few months we will be exploring these projects with a range of infographics, with an emphasis on project location, type, concept type, and employed technology and sustainability innovations.
In 2021 we had the privilege of delivering detailed designs for three separate offshore wind farm projects, including Saint-Brieuc, Hollandse Kust (noord) and Hollandse Kust (west Alpha). Our work included developing a distinct OSS substructure detailed design for each of the projects.

We had the recent pleasure of seeing the Saint-Brieuc offshore substation jacket under construction at the Heerema Fabrication Group yard in Vlissingen. Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm is the first large-scale offshore wind farm in Brittany. SLPE was brought on board to deliver the detailed primary and secondary steel design for the jacket sub-structure and pile foundations.
